Help people do good: Become a Social Entrepreneur Supporter

We’re recruiting for four people to become paid Social Entrepreneur Supporters - people to help find, recruit and support social entrepreneurs. ‘Being a Social Entrepreneur Supporter has been a brilliant experience. I’ve been given the opportunity to travel around the country meeting and supporting exceptional people who are doing great things to change the world in which they live.’ - Louis, Social Entrepreneur Supporter There are more people than ever stepping up to tackle the world’s problems through enterprising solutions - we call these people social entrepreneurs. People like Corina Best who started a dance class to give young women confidence in themselves, Nick O’Shea who set up a microbrewery to give people with learning difficulties a 'cool' job, and Josh Littlejohn and Alice Thompson who set up a sandwich chain that helps local homeless people with meals and jobs. Around 60% of new startups say they are influenced by social and environmental causes - suggesting a real apetitite among new entrepreneurs to create ventures that do good. The challenge is to make sure that they can be supported wherever they are in the country so that every social entrepreneur can reach their potential. We’re looking for four people who want to gain the skills, experience and knowledge to support social entrepreneurs to start up and thrive. This is a year long, paid, part-time opportunity. You will learn by doing - being gradually introduced to the world of social entrepreneurship through a placement with a social enterprise, mentoring from an UnLtd Award manager and the opportunity to manage and support your own caseload of social entrepreneurs. We want to recruit people from a diverse range of backgrounds from across the UK including people that have not been part of the social enterprise or support sectors before. You might be someone looking to explore a new career, a social entrepreneur looking to learn the skills to support other social entrepreneurs, or someone looking to learn skills on a part-time secondment to take into their current role.

APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN UNTIL 14TH MARCH 2016, 10AM
