By 2020, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) predicts that people aged over 50 will make up almost half of (47%) the adult population and there will be 15.5 million people aged 65 and over. We must prepare for the future and ensure England’s population age better and has the resources and services it needs to do so. At UnLtd, we work to unleash the energies of people who can transform the world they live in. We back passionate and committed people with entrepreneurial solutions to our most pressing social problems. We call them social entrepreneurs. Ageing better is on our agenda. A focus of our work is to build capacity among partner organisations to find, fund and support people with the potential to transform the way we approach ageing. UnLtd has come together with the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation to recruit partner agencies across England who are ready and interested in supporting social entrepreneurs with solutions to challenges of an ageing population. Our plan is to help social entrepreneurs with ideas to enhance the lives of older people to get the support they need to start well and thrive. We want to share our skills and expertise and those of our networks with partners who have the required capacity to find, fund, assess and support social entrepreneurs and want to support social entrepreneurs who can help England’s population to ‘age better’. If that sounds like you, the partnership prospectus lays out how we can help and what we’re looking for.
