Could a new peer network play a transformational role in supporting the work of social entrepreneurs? Connecting social entrepreneurs to great support is a core part of UnLtd's role, so we're delighted to unveil a new tool to do just that.
The tool, powered by Kumu, is a way for Social Entrepreneurs to connect with people who can help, and allow people from outside our network to move closer to the people who are providing solutions to some of the biggest challenges faced by society.
We know that navigating the support available and finding your tribe isn't easy, so we've compiled a unique, interactive map full of inspiring people, ideas and organisations who can help. It allows users to navigate the system in the West Midlands Combined Authority Area (WMCA) and is searchable by using areas of impact or geographical focus – allowing users to quickly find people working in the most relevant space.
The West Midlands Combined Authority area is made up of 18 Local Authorities and four Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs). It's a little more complicated when it comes to management and oversight but and information can be found on their site.
For the purposes of the map, the following 18 Authorities are included: Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Coventry, Dudley, Sandwell, Solihull, Walsall, Cannock Chase, Nuneaton and Bedworth, Redditch, Tamworth, Telford and Wrekin, North Warwickshire, Rugby Borough, Stratford Upon Avon, Shropshire, Warwickshire and Herefordshire.
If you're in the area, and you'd like to be on the map (you must be a social entrepreneur or support organisation), simply complete this google form and we'll get you on. Otherwise, If you're not in the WMCA area but you'd like to see this map in your area, or to find out more, e-mail the Communities of Action team. Launch Interactive Map
