Are you a business owner or business professional based in Dundee? Would you like to make a difference to the city you live and work in? Could you provide expert advice and support to social entrepreneurs?

UnLtd are currently delivering a place-based programme in Dundee called Resilient Communities. This programme is a partnership with The Circle Dundee and it sees us supporting five local social entrepreneurs each year (over five years) to test and pilot their ideas for social change.

We’re currently working with a cohort of 10 Dundee-based social entrepreneurs and have spent the past two years getting to know the city, the people who are working there to create change, and the issues that are important to them and their communities.

UnLtd find, fund and support up to 400 social entrepreneurs each year – these are enterprising people with solutions that change our society for the better and our role is to help them turn their idea of a better world into a reality, supporting them in the early stages of setting up and growing their venture.

We know that setting up a social venture is one of the most exciting, rewarding and challenging things one can ever do. For many it is life changing, not only for the individual behind the venture but also for the people, communities and environment it impacts upon. The reality, is that the passionate individuals behind the ventures also need support and expert advice to become sustainable.

At UnLtd we have been connecting social entrepreneurs with volunteer business mentors for over 10 years so we know how transformational this kind of support can be. Mentorship can give entrepreneurs greater personal confidence and help them create sustainable ventures.

We are now looking to expand our mentoring network into Dundee and are looking for volunteer mentors to join our pilot in 2019.

Our Dundee Pilot will focus on connecting local social entrepreneurs with local businesses or corporate professionals for a six month mentoring journey. Our aim is to have 5-10 social entrepreneurs connected with a local mentor by February 2019.

“My mentor was really enthusiastic for our project, he was inspiring. He also was pragmatic, helped us to have a holistic view, a comprehensive picture of our business, and not to leave out some aspects.” - Social Entrepreneur

If you would be interested in joining our mentoring community and participating in our pilot, we’d love to hear from you.

Please email us on [email protected] by 1 February 2019 and a member of our mentoring team will get in touch with you to discuss everything in more detail and to answer any questions you may have.
